A console repair, step by step

A console arrives with a description that is rarely a diagnosis: «it will not turn on», «no picture», «it ejects the disc». At intake you open a ticket with brand, model and serial, note what came with it — controller, cables, even the disc left in the drive — and take condition photos via QR from any phone.

Diagnosis is its own stage, in bench language: HDMI port, power stage, overheating and thermal paste replacement, optical drive, analog stick drift, USB-C charging port. When you have a verdict, you send a quote with cost and time — the customer approves it (and pays it online if you want), and the answer is recorded on the repair with a date.

  • Record accessories at intake: controllers, cables, a disc left in the drive
  • QR intake photos — capture seals and condition before you open the console
  • Repair quote with online approval and payment by the customer
  • Statuses per stage: received, in diagnosis, awaiting approval, in repair, ready

Serial and history per console

Consoles have no IMEI — they have a serial, and that is enough: every ticket is tied to the console’s serial, and its history opens in one click. When the same Switch comes back with drift, you see when you replaced the stick, with which part, and whether your warranty is still running.

History is not only for returns: every console that crossed your bench keeps its repairs, parts and costs in one place — not scattered across notepads, spreadsheets and a technician’s memory.

Parts and stock for every platform

A PS5 HDMI port is not a PS4 one, and Joy-Con sticks do not fit a DualSense. The parts catalogue keeps a code, description and price for each — ports, sticks, fans, power supplies, thermal paste — so at diagnosis you know what is in the drawer and what needs ordering.

When a part goes onto a repair, it leaves stock by itself and its cost is written into the repair — you see what each job actually left you, not just what you collected. The catalogue is included on the free plan; full inventory with supplier orders comes with Pro.

A repair warranty, with a certificate to hand over

Every repair gets a warranty with a duration you set — one for an HDMI port replacement, another for a clean and repaste. The customer receives a warranty certificate with the repair details, and the expiry is calculated automatically.

If the console comes back, the serial opens the history: you see at once whether the fault is covered, and the warranty claim is recorded on the original repair — not on a fresh ticket that remembers nothing.

Diagnosis fee, till and receipt at the end of the flow

Inspecting a console takes time — opening, measurements, testing. You set a fixed diagnosis fee that is charged when the customer declines the repair, and offset when they approve it. The term is on the ticket from intake, so there are no surprises at hand-back.

When the repair is done, you charge from the till — service, parts, VAT, cash or card on a Viva terminal — and the myDATA document is issued from the same screen through Viva Fiscal, a licensed ΥΠΑΗΕΣ provider, on Standard plans and above. One flow: intake, diagnosis, repair, receipt.

Start free — no card, no contract

The free plan covers 30 repairs a month with a soft limit that warns you and never blocks you, unlimited users and QR intake photos. Sign up with an email, run your first consoles through it, and upgrade only when you need the till or invoicing.

Answers to the usual questions

Does it support console serials?
Yes. Every ticket records brand, model and serial, and the console’s history — repairs, parts, warranties — opens by searching the serial.
Can I offer a warranty on repairs?
Yes. You set a warranty duration per repair or service, the customer receives a certificate, and when the console comes back the claim is recorded on the original repair.
How do I charge for diagnosis?
You set a fixed inspection fee that is charged when the customer declines the quote, and offset when they approve it. The term appears on the ticket from intake.
Is there a free plan?
Yes — permanent, not a trial: 30 repairs a month with a soft limit, unlimited users, no card. The POS till starts at €19/month and myDATA documents from Standard (€39/month).
